Minutes were read and amended as follows:
Thank you card was read from Shannette Hoyle (spelling of first name was incorrect).
Donuts for school employees were ordered from Southern Made Donuts
Minutes were approved as amended by Lisa 1st , 2nd by Elaine.

Lisa reported we purchased 31 dozen donuts from Southern Made for school employees at cost
of $2.50 per dozen and Karen Fritchey helped deliver the donuts in addition to others named
in August minutes.
Kristine Sweet was introduced as a new member from Bank of Joplin.
Dave reported only1 vender has been setting up for the Farmers Market for the last
few weeks. The market will probably close down the end of September.
Steve reported he has talked to a representative of CGI, issuer of street banners.
They told him they had 400 orders for new pole banners, however have not given him a list of names for these
orders. They are going ahead with the order for this year. Jim Kessler gave a bid for banners
of $350 per banner and refund $50 for each banner to the Chamber.
The CJ businesses at East end of town are planning a Business after Hours in October, with
exact date to be determined.
Lisa read a letter from a representative of Boys State giving an excellent report of our
candidate, Jonathan Benson.
Christmas banquet date of Dec. 2, 6:30 p.m. has been confirmed with Briarbrook Country
Club.
Jerry presented a sign-up sheet for the upcoming Fall Festival to work the gate which
includes dispencing programs and receiving donations.
The date of our city-wide garage sale was approved for Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005. The
office of ReMax Realty will receive assignments and print the map.
A ribbon cutting for Casey's Convenience store on Fir Road is scheduled for 8 a.m. on
Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005.
Phil distributed a survey "Establishing our Vision" requesting each complete and return. This
will assist them in establishing goals for the school.
Bill Dunn reported the training building and repel tower is being constructed near the
CJ fire station.
Joe asked for pictures of police or equipment etc. These will be reproduced and
placed as wall decorations in the new police station. The police department has
scheduled a children's finger printing at the Fir Road Casey's on Sept. 11.
Mr. Elf and Miss Jingle Bells registration is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005.
The annual Christmas parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4.
With no further business the meeting adjourned to the ribbon cutting for CJ's Community
Support Services.
