Due to the absence of President and Vice President, Lisa Knutzen led the meeting.
Minutes of October meeting were read and approved. Jayne 1st, Steve 2nd.
Treasures report: Youth fund - $1,096.57
Christmas fund - 9,145.06
Regular fund - 2,860.06

Leona reported on the Christmas parade.
The date of the parade and Mr. Elf and Ms. Elf crowning is scheduled for Sunday,
Dec. 4, 2005, 2:00 p.m. 21 entries have been received and published in the Jasper County Citizen.
Parade entries have been mailed to all 2004 parade entries. 9 entries have been
received to date. Karen Fritchey, Stephanie and Jerry Botts volunteered to assist with
the parade line-up. Jayne and Lisa volunteered to line up the Mr. Elf and Miss Jingle
Bells contestants. A parade committee meeting will be held Nov. 8, 2005 at the CBT
meeting room.
Plans are being made for Empire Electric to place electrical outlets on light poles along
Pennell Street as well as near the vacant lot between Simpson's Funeral Home and
Fire Station.
The lighted reindeer and stars that the Chamber has purchased in previous years will
be placed on the vacant lot along with some live cedar trees. Chamber and Lions Club members will meet at the city maintenance shed on Thursday,
Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to do an inventory of Christmas lights that are usable.
We will again sponsor a Christmas lighting contest. Jayne will ask the Garden Club if
they will judge it as they have done in the past.
The annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas banquet is scheduled for Dec. 2 at the Briarbrook Country Club. Invitations will be mailed soon. Jayne asked that a special
invitation be sent to Mrs. Enid Blevins in appreciation of her judging our essay contest
each year. Chamber members are asked to contribute an item for the silent auction.
These items can be taken to SMB Bank or CBT by Dec. 1.
Jim Kessler presented samples of items with school logo that school children could sell
for income.
Joe reported the City is hosting an Open House for the newly constructed police station on
Nov. 18, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Local and State dignitaries have been invited. The Chamber will
sponsor a ribbon cutting at that time. All chamber members are urged to attend.
An Open House for the general public will be held Dec. 3, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in
conjunction with the annual Christmas Home tour.
The annual city retreat will be held at the HS Library on Nov. 19, 2005, 8:30 a.m.
Steve Lawver reported he has resigned his Economic Development position with the
city. He plans to continue assisting with many city projects.
Karen Fritchey reported she is working with Hearts and Hammers and they are seeking
possible homes to repair in the CJ and Webb City area.
Jayne reported the CJ Senior Center is seeking funds for extensive repairs to their
building. Steve made a motion to donate $200, 2nd by Jayne. Motion carried.
