Minutes of January meeting approved as read.

Treasures report: Youth fund - $ 1,431.74
Christmas fund - 10,212.56
General fund - 3,203.00

Old Business:

Lisa gave an update on Girls State. Amanda Shelton and Amanda Nutt will attend this year. The Chamber will sponsor both candidates. Kirsten Chodrick one of our 2 chosen candidates had to cancel because of other commitments. The CJ Lions Club had agreed to sponsor a 3rd candidate but due to the withdrawal will not do so.

Lisa read a request from the Girl Scout Council to purchase a case of Girl Scout cookies to be sent to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan at a cost of $48.00. Jayne made motion seconded by Phil to approve this purchase.

The date of Tuesday evening, March 14 was approved as the date for the Chamber’s annual meeting to be held at the CJ Senior Center. Exact time will be announced at later date. Ginger Hayes is chairman of this event.

Due to the cancellation of the Feb. 2 Business After Hours sponsored by SMB and Joplin Globe an alternative date of Feb. 23 was set. Time: 5:00/6:30 p.m. in the conference room of SMB.

New Business:

Dave and Marilyn Harris have agreed to chair the 2006 Farmers Market. We still have the signs from last year so will be used again. The market will be held each Thursday, 3:00/6:00p.m. as last year and begin approximately June 1. Dave suggested more advertising be done this year in local newspapers and radio. Lisa made motion to allot $500 for expenses, 2nd by Phil.
 
A date for the Spring Awards Banquet will be chosen at the March meeting.

Ragena Duling was introduced as the owner of new shop “Always in Bloom” a fresh flower and gift shop which will open on Feb. 6. A ribbon cutting date will be determined.

Jim Hanson of Chris Dumm Law Office was also introduced as new member.

With no further business the meeting adjourned.
